Shareitfair is launched.

Most people spend a good part of their days on social media. It has become an integral part of people's lives and daily routines. Some are addicted to it so much that the first thing they do after waking up is to check their social media feeds. Social media has also become a virtual mall of sorts, right in the palm of our hands. We can browse products and purchase within a few clicks.

The revenue streams of leading social networks come from advertising. That explains why they try to make everyone staying on their platforms for hours each day. As an object, or part of their product, we are exposed to personalized ads in various ways. Push notifications and algorithms are designed to keep us there. In some cases, we see it leads to social media burnout as a form of online fatigue that can happen when we spend too much time on social networks.

We spent hours talking to ordinary social media users in the early stage of our development process. It became very clear to us that many of them struggled to control time spent on social platforms. In average young people spent nearly 1500 minutes per week on social platforms. Our data from the older generation indicates that the average is 40-50% lower, but still in the 750-900 minutes per week range.

That’s why we decided to develop Shareitfair based on the three following product design pillars:

Essential!

It is essential that we fix the broken funding of the sustainable development goals. They were created as a global call to action for positive change. With concerns about climate change, inequalities, human rights and social justice dominating popular culture today, the private sector, has to play a pivotal contributing role. Our mission is to increase private funding of the goals at low cost.

Effortless!

It is not 'rocket science' to change a business model to reduce time spent on a new platform. Ads are totally banned on Shareitfair, and personal data is protected – not sold. We don't need to keep you on our platform for hours each week. We think you like effortless. Supporting your passions has never been easier. It takes just a few clicks to see the results of your support.

Engagement!

Stress and burnout share some common side effects, such as feelings of unhappiness, lack of motivation, and low energy levels. We rather prefer to offer joy and happiness to our customers. Engagement is therefor a main pillar in our concept. We believe in positive vibes and inspiration, and studies show that giving can actually boost your physical and mental health.

We have launched our social sustainability network for the Norwegian market, but we are going global. The platform is not perfect, but we are listening to customers and users to make it better. There are no advertisers pushing us to make you stay on our platform. We are just asking you for a minute or two - once or twice a week – to make positive change.

We hope to see you soon.
