We are pleased to announce that FijiStiftelsen will become one of the impactors at ‘SHARE’. The Fiji Foundation was established in December 2011. Its purpose is to provide financial assistance to individuals and families who are in a difficult situation. Be it financially, socially or psychosocially, or for projects in the Fiji Islands. "Why relief work in Fiji? Even if Fiji is considered a Pacific paradise, the country is struggling with human rights and poverty issues. Among other things, the UN has documented how Fiji has major challenges with healthcare and education. Knut Østby, coordinator of the UN system and representative of the UN Development Program (UNDP) in Fiji, confirms these challenges. He points out that it is important for development work in the Pacific region to set up projects with the greatest possible involvement from the population itself.
